33 star Virginian flag flown at the capture of John Brown to auction

A 33 star flag carried by the 55th Virginia cavalry at Harper's Ferry in 1859 could make $12,000-15,000 at Heritage Auctions.

The 33 star Virginian flag was flown during the capture of the militant abolitionist John Brown

A note attached to the lot states it was flown during the capture of the militant abolitionist John Brown during his attempt to raid the garrison and arm local slaves.

The June 7 sale in Dallas will also feature an 1865 field pass signed by Abraham Lincoln and Ulysses S Grant, and a guide flag of the 2nd Maryland volunteer infantry.

We have these fragments of wallpaper from Abraham Lincoln's bedroom in Springfield.
