A sale at Hermann Historica in Munich will include a pair of flintlock pistols manufactured for Elisabeth Petrovna of Russia (1709-1762).
The auction house describes them as "magnificently crafted, with engraved and chiselled decoration of a cupid amidst trophy bundles on a gold ground, her crowned cipher and the Russian double headed eagle struck at the breeches".

The lot carries an estimate of $76,290 ahead of the November 3 to December 13 auction.
Petrovna was empress of Russia between 1741 and 1762, presiding over the construction of some of the nation's grandest buildings - including the Winter Palace in Saint Petersburg.
Interest in memorabilia pertaining to the tsars has increased in Russia following perestroika, resulting in rising values.
This was shown in a sale of letters from Nicholas II in 2012, which saw $129,000, and a similar collection from various members of the royal family that made $832,950 in December last year.
A Persian set of armour comprising a helmet, shield and arm guard is valued at $31,787.
The lot was made towards the end of the 1800s and displays superb gold and silver inlays.
