A rare autographed letter from Dambusters wing commander Guy Gibson will provide the star lot in a UK auction on February 8.

Guy Gibson's autograph is rare in any format, yet Paul Fraser Collectibles has two examples for sale, including this magnificent signed photograph

The typed letter is signed at the bottom and will be sold for £800-1,200 ($1,269-1,904). The world war two hero signs off with, "although I can't be with you, please all have a pink gin for me!"

The letter, dated June 22, 1944, is being sold by the family of a Mr Greene, to whom the letter is addressed. The auction will also offer two of Mr Greene's medals.
