A general service medal (GSM) and South Atlantic casualty medal pair awarded to Staff Sergeant Sidney 'Sid' Davidson of the SAS is up for auction at Baldwin's in London.

The GSM displays three bars (South Arabia, Dhofar and Northern Ireland).
The South Atlantic medal was specifically introduced to honour servicemen who fought in the Falklands war (April 2-June 14, 1982), with this example awarded posthumously.
Davidson was killed in 1982, when a Sea King helicopter carrying 18 senior officers crashed into the sea.
