Online charity auctioneer Charitybuzz is offering a particularly intriguing collectible this week.
Pink Floyd play Time from the Dark Side of the Moon |
This is a one-of-a-kind guitar, individually painted by the visual mastermind behind The Dark Side of The Moon, Ian Emes, featuring the iconic artwork from the 'Time' sequence. It has been autographed by Pink Floyd members Roger Waters, Nick Mason, David Gilmour and artist Ian Emes.
Pink Floyd is one of the most popular English rock bands of all time. In the late 1960s they earned recognition for their psychedelic and space rock music, and in the 1970s, as they evolved, for their progressive rock music.
Pink Floyd's work is marked by philosophical lyrics, sonic experimentation, innovative album cover art, and elaborate live shows.
One of rock music's most critically acclaimed and commercially successful acts, the group has sold over 200 million albums worldwide, including 74.5 million certified units in the United States.

This extensive recognition naturally increases the strength of the item as an alternative investment.
Ian Emes is a British animator and film director, from Handsworth, Birmingham, England, known for his work with Pink Floyd, who have used his animated films as back-projections in concert and released them as extras on their DVDs.
The body of the guitar has been encapsulated to protect and preserve the artwork.
Listed with an estimated value of $25,000, it looks likely that the guitar will reach that goal as it is already carrying a bid of $21,000 with a couple of days to go. The auction closes on Thursday, July 14 2011 at 2.45pm EDT with the proceeds going to UK charity for the homeless, Crisis.
