Apache chief Geronimo photograph to auction on May 16

Scottsdale Auctions is to offer a rare photograph of Apache chief Geronimo on May 16 in Arizona.

The lot is to lead the sale of the Sgt. Willard M. Burleson Photograph Collection of Western Cabinet Cards with a valuation of $4,500-6,500.

The iconic image shows the Apache leader kneeling with his rifle and was taken by photographer A Frank Randall at the San Carlos Reservation in 1884.
