With the new doctor recently announced, a rare Auton carnival mask from Doctor Who's 1971 series has seen excellent bids as part of an eBay sale that ended on September 5.

The fibreglass mask starred in a four-part adventure entitled Terror of the Autons, which aired between January 2-23, 1971. It sold for ?�5,154 ($8,093).
It was put up for sale by a London collector whose father worked for a studio transport company in the 1970s. It arrived in good condition, although bearing the chips and scrapes from a lifetime of use.
The Terror of the Autons saw Jon Pertwee's Doctor Who star alongside Katy Mannine, Roger Delgado and Richard Franklin in their debut appearances for the series.
An annotated script from a David Tennant-era Doctor Who episode was offered as part of a charity auction on August 3, while Matt Smith's first car saw $9,500 in a bid for charity in July.
