Today, September 5 marks what would have been the birthday of the man a 2005 poll voted as being the greatest male singer of all time.
That man was Freddie Mercury, lead singer of legendary rockers Queen, who sadly died aged just 45 of an AIDS-related illness. Now a group has determined to celebrate the star in the name of charity, including an exciting auction featuring a lavish range of items.
The event is taking place as part of the 'Be Freddie for a day' initiative.
Highlights in the sale include: An acoustic guitar from the 1992 Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert bearing the signatures of Brian May, Roger Taylor, David Bowie, George Michael, Naomi Campbell and Cindy Crawford, (amongst others).
Then there's a Raymond Weil watch with Freddie Mercury's signature engraved on the reverse along with the Queen 40th anniversary logo.

Swiss made, this Raymond Weil watch has a black textured leather strap with a traditional buckle and a sapphire crystal watch glass and stainless steel body and is water resistant to 100m/330ft. It has 25 jewels (rubies) and a 46 hour power reserve.
The watch comes complete with a two-year guarantee and in a luxury Raymond Weil presentation box.
The headline piece is a one off special Freddie Mercury edition Lotus Evora S features Freddie Mercury signature upholstery and detail to both the interior and exterior for a truly unique drive.
All the items will be sold late tonight, though online bidding is available too.
Watch this space for more news of this remarkable auction. Freddie Mercury was a collector himself. Not many people know that as a child he was a keen stamp collector, and his stamp album was purchased by Royal Mail for the National Postal Museum on December 17, 1993.
The proceeds of the Savoy sale will be donated to the Mercury Phoenix Trust.
