An archive of 75 letters from Victorian art critic John Ruskin to a priest (some concerning the Effie Gray scandal) will auction at Bonhams.
The collection will cross the block in the Fine Books, Atlases, Manuscripts and Photographs sale in London on November 12.

Ruskin married Effie Gray in 1848, but the pair separated soon after. She went on to marry pre-Raphaelite artist John Millais, which caused some consternation in the society of the time.
In the letters Ruskin writes: "I married like a fool because a girl's face pleased me. She married me for my money, breaking her faith to a poor lover."
Renewed interest in the affair, following the release of a high profile film earlier this year, is likely to provide the archive with a boost at auction.
