Scientist Kenneth G Wilson's 1982 Nobel Prize for Physics is up for sale at Nate D Sanders.
|
He was awarded the medal for his work on the critical point of phase transitions, meaning the exact moment that a solid, liquid or gas converts into another form.
The lot is expected to make in excess of $450,000 at the May 26 auction.
It will be the latest in a long list of Nobel Prizes to cross the block over the last couple of years, with the most recent being the medal awarded to physiologist Alan Hodgkins.
It sold for $795,550 at Nate D Sanders last year.
