A presentation book of original Mickey Mouse production drawings has sold from the collection of Where the Wild Things Are author Maurice Sendak.
|
The sale took place on July 17 at Hake's, with the book one of the top lots at $13,775. Sendak was a lifelong collector of Disneyana (the term for Disney memorabilia) and amassed one of the finest collections in the world.
The book contains 10 vinyl sleeves, each containing a drawing on animation paper. The insert page reads: "Mickey Mouse - Presented to Maurice Sendak by the Walt Disney Company - 1988".
The drawings are from some of Mickey's earliest appearances with Pluto, Minnie and Goofy.
Paul Fraser Collectibles has a brilliant Disney book signed by the animators and voice actors that made our favourite characters come to life.
