Napoleon Bonaparte 1814 pistols expected to make $1.8m

A pair of pistols given as a gift by Napoleon Bonaparte to his son in 1814 are to auction at Sotheby's London.

The guns are expected to make ?�800,000-1.2m ($1.2m-1.8m) in a July 8 sale.

Napoleon presented the gift shortly before he left for the Battle of Waterloo (1815). This would be the last time that he saw his son, then just three years old, as he was captured and exiled after his defeat.
