An extremely rare poster for 1935's The Raven movie is the lead lot in Premiere Props' Hollywood Extravaganza XII on November 23-24 in California.

The poster stars the two kings of 1930s horror, Bela Lugosi and Boris Karloff, and with early Universal Studios posters some of the most desirable on the market, it is expected to meet its $15,000-25,000 estimate.
The window-card poster has been given an "extremely clean and professional" restoration and is graded Very Fine (8).

Movie posters dominate the sale, with the second highest bids expected from another great Universal example, 1944's House of Frankenstein. Valued at $8,000-12,000, it is unbacked, unrestored and in fully original condition, making it a highly desirable piece for collectors, aside from a few minor faults.
Following is a 1931 lobby card from Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, which is described as one of the two best of the set, depicting Frederic March in character as Mr Hyde. Having undergone an expert restoration, it is in fine condition and will sell with a $7,500-10,000 estimate.
Heritage Auctions will hold its own sale of vintage movie posters on November 16-17, starring the insert poster from Universal's Werewolf in London (1935). In July, the auction house sold the only known example of the Frankenstein insert poster for $263,000.
Paul Fraser Collectibles has some wonderful posters for sale.
