A number of hoverboards were built for the film, with Styrofoam used for scenes where it was carried and wood for close up and action shots.
The present lot is of the latter variety and displays a photo finish, along with the rare original spinning footpad.
Another example sold for $55,000 at Profiles in History in 2009.
A SPECTRE underwater tow sled from the 1965 James Bond film Thunderball made 20,000 ($32,161).

It's one of only two in existence, and was used in one of the film's many underwater fight scenes.
The Prop Store explained its provenance: "The sled comes from Mr. Jordan Klein, who helped design and build the film's underwater vehicles and was allowed to keep this piece after production wrapped. The spear guns are faithful resin reproductions cast from the same model used in the film."
A screen-used suit worn by Arnold Schwarzenegger in Terminator 2 made 18,000 ($28,923).
