A US auction house is expecting top bids as it brings some of the first screen-used memorabilia from last year's Django Unchained to auction on March 2.

The sale will take place in the fitting surroundings of Hollywood and features a premier selection of top movie props. The Django Unchained memorabilia is some of the most highly valued in the sale, with the guns and accompanying rigs worn by Jamie Foxx estimated at $40,000-55,000.
Django Unchained is Quentin Tarantino's latest film, which was released in December 2012. It is the iconic director's highest-grossing movie to date, making over $342m worldwide, and has received critical acclaim as well as several award nominations.
The gun set was consigned to auction by legendary expert Thell Reed, who served as Jamie Foxx's personal gun trainer for the movie. Included are Foxx's two screen-used 1858 Remington cap and ball .44 pistols, two specifically made conversion cylinders and screen worn leather rigs, as well as custom fitted holsters.
The guns are accompanied in the sale by a specially created certificate of authenticity from Reed, who will be present at the auction to answer any questions.

Also selling is a unique, custom designed knife and sheath used by Foxx, which was created by master knife maker Chuck Stapel, who has been supplying Hollywood with the most iconic knives over the past 30 years. This is the first example of Stapel's work ever to be sold at auction.
Unlike most other film knives, no stunt or rubber version was ever made of the weapon, and the 11 inch blade is incredibly sharp. It will sell with a $10,000-20,000 estimate with a certificate of authenticity from Stapel.
There is a fantastic selection of movie star-signed photographs for sale over at PFC Auctions, including a superb example from John Wayne as Rooster Cogburn in True Grit, a movie to which Django Unchained owes much of its inspiration.
