Julien's Auctions will offer the Frieda Hull Marilyn Monroe Collection and Photography Archive in LA on November 19.
Frieda Hull was one of the Monroe Six, a group of superfans who photographed the star at every opportunity.
Frieda Hull was a member of the Monroe Six |
They travelled to various locations around the country and waited outside hotels, studios and apartments in order to catch a glimpse of her.
Monroe came to know them all very well and would regularly stop to chat and sign photographs. Once she even invited them to a picnic at her home in Connecticut.
The collections spans the years from 1940 until Monroe's death in 1962 and offers a fascinating alternate view of key events in her life, such as her birthday performance for President Kennedy and the famous Subway Dress scene from The Seven Year Itch.
The collection features well over a thousand photographs, publicity shots and videos - many of which have never been published before.
A scarf that Marilyn gave to Frieda is also featured, along with locks of her hair and other items.
We have an authentic strand of Monroe's hair for sale.
The sale will also include the David Gainsborough Roberts collection, which features dresses and other items from some of Monroe's best known films.
