A pair of swim shorts worn by Orlando Bloom on the set of the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie will auction with a starting bid of just under �200 ($339) on eBay.

The lot, which is being sold to benefit Relate: East Kent - a local counselling service - did not appear in the film but was worn during downtime.

They are sold alongside a note of authentication from the star's mother that reads: "Certificate of Authentification for bathing shorts of patchwork pattern made by Polo Sport Ralph Lauren worn by Orlando Bloom for bathing while filming Pirates of the Caribbean. Signed Sonia Copeland Bloom (mother) January 2010."

The sale is due to close on June 21.
