The auction does not close until April 17, yet the album is currently selling for $9,882. This price will undoubtedly rocket as the sale draws to its close.
Beatles For Sale was the fourth studio album, released by the Beatles in December 1964. It was produced at the height of Beatlemania, following hot on the heels of A Hard Day's Night, which was released in July of the same year.
It topped the UK charts for a period of 11 weeks and remained in the top 20 for 46, knocking A Hard Day's Night from the top spot in a time when the Beatles dominated pop music. Even after this remarkable run was over, it returned to the number one spot for one more week to dethrone the latest Rolling Stones release.
The album marked a turning point in the Beatles' careers, particularly in the Lennon-McCartney partnership, with John Lennon beginning to write songs of a more autobiographical nature, and being influenced by American artists such as Bob Dylan.
This fantastic copy of A Hard Day's Night for sale has also been signed by all members of the band, and is one of just 8-10 known to exist.
There are less than 125 fully signed Beatles albums known to have survived in the world, making these items some of the rarest of all Beatles memorabilia.
Paul Fraser Collectibles has some of the finest Beatles items for sale, each with a free lifetime authenticity guarantee.
