A record player Elvis Presley gave to a German woman has beaten its estimate by 120% at a UK auction.
Elvis gave the Perpetuum Ebner Musical 5v Luxus to Ellen Marchhauser in 1959 as a wedding gift while he was stationed in Germany with the US army.

It is thought the gift was also a thank-you from Elvis to Marchhauser for undertaking some translations for his father.
Valued at £2,000 ($3,272), it sold for £4,400 ($7,161) at David Lay Auctions on December 12 - further evidence of the continuing allure of Elvis collectibles for buyers.
