It's expected to make in excess of $20,000, with bidding due to close on August 25.
The record was famously produced under the dual strains of multiple intra-band breakups and heavy drug use.
As studio owner Chris Stone explained in a 1997 interview with Billboard magazine: "The band would come in at 7 at night, have a big feast, party till 1 or 2 in the morning, and then when they were so whacked-out they couldn't do anything, they'd start recording".
The result was one of the greatest albums of the decade.
