A set of 10 gelatin prints by John Guttman proved the top lot of the Bruce Lundvall collection at Doyle New York on June 25, selling for $5,625.

Lundvall was formerly the president of Blue Note Records, one of the world's leading jazz labels.

John Guttman was a German-born Jewish photographer who arrived in America after fleeing the Nazis

The lot comprised some of Guttman's most iconic works, including "Yes, Columbus Did Discover America" and Apology.

Other items in the sale included the original cover art for the 1973 reissue of jazz trumpeter Clifford Brown's album The Beginning and the End, which sold for $4,375.
