John Lennon's Mr Kite lyrics to cross the block in LA

John Lennon's handwritten lyrics to the Beatles' Being for the Benefit of Mr Kite are to sell at Julien's Auctions in LA on May 21.

The song appears on the seminal Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (1967) album.

The song was inspired by an old circus poster Lennon bought in an antique shop

It was inspired by a poster for Pablo Fanque's Circus Royal that Lennon found in an antiques shop, while on a break from filming the video for Strawberry Fields Forever.

The song is one of the more unusual compositions on the record. It was produced by chopping up recordings of fairground organs and splicing them together at random.

Most of the words were lifted wholesale from the poster.

The lyrics last sold for £140,500 ($239,412) at Christie's London in 2014.

They're expected to make $300,000-500,000 this time around.

Elvis Presley's first piano is likely to be another highlight, with an estimate of $200,000-300,000.

He bought the Stroud upright from the O.K. Houck Piano Company Inc in Memphis, Tennessee in 1955 for the sum of $281.75.

He later gifted it to his cook at Graceland, Christine Strickland, who kept it until she died. In 1999 it was sold in an auction held by Guernsey's in Las Vegas, where it realised $90,000.
