The lot was rescued from a skip outside the musician's childhood home in Allerton, Liverpool by a local man in 1964. After storing it behind his sofa for many years, he sold it at auction in April last year for £5,060 ($7,780).
This latest price equates to growth of 36.8% since the last sale - displaying the buoyancy of the Beatles memorabilia market.
The September 3 sale included a wealth of fascinating items, including the stage curtain of legendary Parisian cabaret club L'Alcazar.
