A jacket Prince wore in his 1984 film Purple Rain is to cross the block at Profiles in History.
It will provide one of the highlights of a June 29 sale in Los Angeles.

Prince starred as a character named The Kid. The film was loosely based on his own experiences growing up in Minneapolis.
He wears the jacket in the scene where he rides his motorcycle through the woods, with his co-star Appolliana Kotero on the back.
It carries an estimate of $6,000-8,000, a figure that was worked out before his death. It's likely to soar past that mark as mourning fans compete for a rare piece of memorabilia.
Very few items associated with the star have been offered for auction, as he kept a tight rein on his image and legacy.
In March, a selection of items from the collection of his former wife Mayte Garcia (including the engagement ring he gave her) were offered at Nate D Sanders but most failed to sell.
A pin badge in the shape of his famous symbol was the highlight, achieving $12,500.
It's likely there will be some world record prices set for his memorabilia over the coming months.
