A huge collection of photographs of the Rolling Stones is to provide a major draw at Bonhams' forthcoming Entertainment Memorabilia auction.

The December 12 sale in London will offer the collection, containing over 1,700 images, with an estimate of £40,000-50,000 ($64,000-81,000). The photographs document the Rolling Stones' career throughout the 1960s and 1970s.

The memorial for Brian Jones, who left the band a month before his death, was originally designed to introduce Mick Taylor

The collection was consigned from the archive of a former London-based international photographic agency, and includes images from various photographers.

Some of the most important events of the band's career are documented in the archive, including the press call introducing Mick Taylor to the band at Hyde Park in June 1969, as well as the concert in memory of Brian Jones, which was also held in Hyde Park in July 1969.

Also included are shots of the band onstage and with their friends and fellow musicians, as well as individual and group portraits.

Among the other Rolling Stones items available in the sale are numerous opportunities to own the band's autographs, including a large photograph of the band that is signed by all members of the 1964 line-up. It will sell with a £800-1,200 ($1,300-1,900) estimate.

Also featuring is an All-Stars 1964 autographed concert programme, which is valued at £1,000-1,200 ($1,600-1,900).
