One of the most unusual pieces of Elvis memorabilia ever sold will star in GWS Auctions’ sale in Agoura Hills, California on November 11.
The auction house is offering a 16.5 acre plot of land in Tupelo, opposite Elvis' birthplace (now a museum), where he used to play as a child.
Elvis used to play on this plot of land as a child
The lot includes a shotgun shack that his mother and father helped build in the 1930s.
GWS Auctions explains: “A Presley family member says that Elvis played on the land, hunted and used to swim in the creek there, as a child.
“The land has many interesting attributes, as there are a ton of places for a small child to play, explore and escape the world.”
The estimate is $2m-2.5m.
This isn’t the first time the childhood haunt of a big name has come to auction.
In 2013 John Lennon’s childhood home in the Penny Lane area of Liverpool sold for a massive £480,000 ($631,488) - way above the average house price for the area.
