Hidden under the sea for 107 years
Dear fellow collector
No hand has gripped this wheel in 107 years.
No foot has stepped upon the rigging.
No shout has carried across the deck.
Because this is the Endurance. Explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton's ship. That sank in the Antarctic ice in 1915.
This morning, they discovered it. Perfectly preserved. 2 miles under the Weddell Sea.
The ship that tells a timeless tale of survival
Ernest Shackleton maintained the morale of his crew, even when it seemed all hope was lost.
In 1914 Shackleton set out on the Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition: a perilous trek across Antarctica from ocean to ocean.
But his ship became trapped in the polar ice, and the crew drifted helplessly for months.
The Endurance was slowly crushed by the shifting ice, leaving them stranded on a moving ice floe without hope of rescue.
They survived for months in brutal conditions, before fleeing in lifeboats to the uninhabited Elephant Island.
Shackleton and five of his men then sailed 720 miles across treacherous seas to a remote whaling station, where they finally found a rescue party for the rest of the crew.
Incredibly, every member of the crew survived - and Shackleton was hailed as a hero for bringing them home.
Ernest Shackleton is one of history's greatest polar explorers.
Today, on this most extraordinary day...
Is your opportunity to own a relic of the man himself.

Ernest Shackleton's name is synonymous with great leadership.
When Sir Raymond Priestley was asked about his fellow Antarctic explorers, he said famously:
“When disaster strikes and all hope is gone, get down on your knees and pray for Shackleton".
From the corporate world to the U.S Navy, he's cited as the perfect example of 'calmness under pressure'.
