New today: Hand-drawn by a great inventor

Hi fellow collector

"Mr. Watson, come here. I want to see you.”

That may sound like a line from a Sherlock Holmes story.

But in fact it's one of the most important sentences in scientific history.

Because on March 10, 1876, they were the first words ever spoken on a telephone.

It was an incredible breakthrough that led to long-distance calls, global communication, the internet and the smartphone.

You could say today's modern world began with those nine words.

And the genius who spoke them, on his own invention, was this man:

Alexander Graham Bell.

Alexander Graham Bell (1847 - 1922) - one of the defining figures in the history of technology.

Today I have a brand new item in stock with a remarkable history.

A truly unique piece of Alexander Graham Bell memorabilia.

  • Beautifully presented
  • Professionally restored
  • And completely fresh to the market

It's a drawing which captures Bell's personality and sense of humour.

By the same hand that sketched the first designs for the telephone in 1876.

And it was originally owned by his protege – a brilliant young inventor named Casey Baldwin.

A man who also became one of history's most pioneering aviators.

If you love history, this piece has everything you want for your collection.

Rarity, provenance and a great story to tell.

This is a collector's piece with everything: remarkable rarity, wonderful provenance and a great story to tell.

Bell changed the world when he invented the telephone.

But his brilliant work also included visible speech systems for deaf children and experimental aircraft.

In 1906 he met graduate Frederick Walker 'Casey' Baldwin, who shared his passion for aviation.

Bell took Baldwin under his wing, and in 1907 they founded the Aerial Experiment Association (AEA).

AEA members designed several groundbreaking aircraft, including the Redwing, the June Bug and the Silver Dart.

Casey Baldwin (far left) and Alexander Graham Bell (far right) at a meeting of the AEA in 1909.

And in March 1908 Baldwin made history when he became the first Canadian and British subject to pilot an aeroplane.

(And only the third North American, after the Wright Brothers themselves.)

The pair also designed several hydrofoil boats, and in 1919 Baldwin built the HD-4 hydrofoil in which he set a world water speed record.

Over the years Baldwin became like a son to Bell, and on his deathbed in 1922 his finally words to his family were to “stand by Casey”.

Bell drew this sketch for Baldwin in November 1921, just nine months before his death.

And today it survives as a touching link between the two great men.

A unique cartoon sketch by Alexander Graham Bell - by the same hand that drew the first plans for the telephone in 1876.

The sketch itself is a unique piece which displays Bell's sense of humour, as he pokes fun at Baldwin.

At the top he titles it “Ye great new invention of F.W.B” (Frederick Walker Baldwin).

And below he draws a cartoon, inspired by their hydrofoil designs and Baldwin's record-breaking heroics on the water.

A drowning figure calls for help and another rides to the rescue, like a cowboy on a boat resembling a horse.

Bell's sketch pokes fun at his inventing partner, with whom he designed several hydrofoil boats.

But the vehicle breaks down and throws the pilot, who ends up head first in the water himself.

At the bottom Bell writes “To be continued...” and dates it “Nov. 19, 1921”.

He signs it fondly with the initials “H.A.L” which stand for H.A. Largelamb - an anagram of A. Graham Bell.

(This was the pen name he also used to write articles for National Geographic Magazine.)

The superb provenance of this item is confirmed on the reverse, where Baldwin himself has signed it "Property of F.W Baldwin".

This was clearly a treasured gift from his mentor, who passed away soon after.

Bell drew this sketch for Baldwin in November 1921, just nine months before his death.

Bell's original sketch measures 5 by 7 inches, and has been expertly restored to the highest standard.

It's also been professionally mounted and framed along with a striking black and white portrait of Bell.

This beautiful display measures 19.5 by 16 inches, and is ready to take pride of place in your collection.

It's a piece of science history you will treasure for years to come.

This beautifully presented piece will take pride of place in your collection for years to come.

I've written recently about the soaring market for science and technology memorabilia.

History's greatest inventors are now in high demand from collectors, and their prices are rising accordingly.

But very rarely do you find a piece which captures the human side of these brilliant minds. Not just an autograph or an equation – but a glimpse of their true personality.

That's what makes this sketch so special.

Alexander Graham Bell was undoubtedly the 'Steve Jobs' of his era.

One of the defining figures in the history of technology.

He invented a device which revolutionised communication, and co-founded one of the world's largest companies (AT&T).

This sketch gives you a wonderful insight into his life – and the friendship he shared with another pioneering inventor.

I've never seen another item like it on the market.

It will make a superb addition to your collection.

And it's available to purchase now for just £5,995 ($7,535).Purchase now

To give you complete peace of mind, this sketch comes with a Lifetime Moneyback Guarantee and my own personal Certificate of Authenticity.

And delivery is completely free and fully insured.

This is an exceptional piece of history.

A completely unique item from one of history's greatest inventors.

You won't find another like it on the market. So don't miss out.
