A sheet of 15 1880-1881 Gambia 6d waterproof crown stamps was among the highlights of the Philatelic Collector's Series sale at Spink London on June 26.

The sheets were printed in a run of 486

It realised £4,800 ($6,283).

It's one of only 486 such sheets printed and remains in fine condition despite its advanced age. It's marred only by a small patch of browning in the top right corner.
