A sheet of 100 1881 1c Navy stamps on soft paper will auction in New York on April 8.

The lot will headline an auction of US Officials from the collection of Roland C Huggins at Robert A Siegel. It's valued at $31,050.
Siegel comments: "The 1c Navy Department on soft paper is found only with the "Specimen" ovpt. of the 1881 American Bank Note Co. Special Printing.
"4,182 were sold, which represents just under 42 sheets. We have not encountered another complete sheet and it is doubtful that many remain intact."
