Regency Superior is holding a Public Sale of rare stamps featuring at least 1,600 lots of Stamps, Postal History and Collections ready for viewing and bidding.
It features a wonderful selection of early 20th century issues including a plethora of USA Classics, Banknotes, Columbians, Trans-Mississippis, Plate Blocks and Revenues.
US highlights include a 24c purple 1870 Scott Grilled Banknote #142; a gorgeous 1893 used $2 Columbian block of 4 and scarce early US coils including a 1909 Washington 10c yellow coil pair #356.
Looming large is a 1846 St Louis Bear 5¢ Black on Gray Lilac worthy of the Jerome Wagshal collection. Is is estimated at $20,000.

There is even a new unlisted error - a 1965 Stevenson 5c block of 4 with dark blue engraving completely missing at bottom; and, a spectacular multi-franked document using the 1866 First Issue $200 Green & Black #R102c.
Foreign highlights include a rarely seen British East Africa 1898 Victoria 50r lilac stamp; a mint never hinged block of 4 of the France 1936 Monoplane 50fr; and, a Greenland 1945 Liberation Overprints set with reversed colours.
The sale takes place immediately after the space memorabilia auction in which the 1990 Command Control Pressure Suit (CCPS) praised by none other than Apollo 11 moonwalker Buzz Aldrin ("I wish we had the Griffin Suit on the Moon") will go under the hammer.
Regency Superior recently had success with a 'spectacular showpiece' pane of rare Washington 2c rose stamps which sold for $14,040, and represents a strong alternative investment. The current stamp auction takes place on June 11-12.
