Philatelists won't have long to recover from their Christmas and New Year excesses before the stamp markets kick-off again in 2010.
Leading the way is Spink, the pre-eminent stamp dealer, with two auctions lined-up in London and Hong Kong, next month.
Its Stamps and Covers of the World sale is scheduled for January 14 then, over in Asia, its Fine Stamps and Covers of Hong Kong and China auction takes place on January 24.

Some exceptional lots will be showcased at the Hong Kong sale, including a complete sheet of 25 5ca. orange Large Dragon stamps, printed on thin 1978 paper.
The stamps have their original gum, margins trimmed at the top and foot, mounted in the margins only.
A fresh and fine specimen, the sheet goes under the hammer estimated at an exceptional HK$300,000-400,000 (that's a maximum estimate of $52,000).
Full auction catalogues are available to buy from Spink's website. Watch this space for more information on both auctions.
