A Chinese 1897 large red revenue stamp achieved $77,385 at Dynasty Auctions' April 11-12 sale in Hong Kong.
The stamps were released as a temporary measure in response to delays in the printing of a national issue and are exceptionally rare today.

Although the large version of the red revenue stamp is much more common than the small variety, an examples of which sold for $890,000 last year, this is one of only a few examples to feature part of its original gum, significantly increasing its value.
We have a superb range of stamps available, including this one of a kind Hong Kong error block.
