Here's a quick look ahead to Grosvenor Philatelic Auctions' September sale, which is currently in preparation and closed for consignments on Friday July 15.

A full catalogue is probably a while away, but from what the auctioneer is hinting, this could be a formidable auction.

It will feature further material from the extensive and unusual collection of the late Dr Ronnie Straus FRPSL. This includes pieces such as some fine Australian 1855 four pence blue stamps.

The exceptional collection of Kuwait formed by Francis Kiddle RDP, FRPSL also features. It is renowned as being probably the best "all round" collection that has been yet assembled.

Then there are specialised Ceylon King George V Key Types from the collection of John Sussex RDP, FRPSL,  a fine New Zealand selection formed by Captain Peter Lay and the remarkable collection of 'Steamship Lines to the Caribbean' formed by Michael Rego.

Those already itching for September due to Interasia's looming sale are to be tantalised a little further, as a virtually complete collection of The Peoples Republic of China stamps 1949-99 is also to be offered.

The specialised Richard Stroud collection of Orange Free State and the fascinating discovery of Great Britain overprinted stamps, including full sheets of Bahrain Castles, developed by Nicky Joyce will round out Grosvenor's auction.
