James T McCusker auctioneers are offering their latest public auction comprised of not only First Day Covers but for the first time hundreds of lots of Postal History and U.S. Stamps including individual items as well as collections.

Great care has been taken to produce a catalogue that would appeal to a broad spectrum of collectors and their interests. The intention is clearly to provide a quality auction of medium to specialised priced stamps and covers with broad collector appeal.

Some of the Postal History highlights are included in a wonderful Stampless Covers section with some rare and interesting items that have not been seen (note lot 268 West Cambridge numeral "5" with negative P.M. initials).

Joseph Glass stampless cover ($10,000-12,000)

Another interesting stampless cover is lot 278 being the earliest (1806) FLS from Sgt. Glass, a member of Capt. Whistler's Company of 40 men sent to build the Fort (this is the earliest known Chicago cover).

There are many other interesting stampless covers, including many attractive Straightlines, Waterways, Railroads, Quarantine, Disinfected, and there is also an impressive section of Civil War Patriotics including a very rare "5th Round Championship Fight" (most probably unique, it should make an excellent investment).

The stamps themselves include many attractive 19th century singles,  a large assortment of 1851-7 1c issues, many plate blocks and strips including Columbians, Omaha issues, Louisiana, better Washington-Franklin issues, modern errors and airmails.
