Regency Superior has concluded its auction, scheduled for the weekend of March 19th.
At this time, the two highest placed lots are: firstly, a USA 1875 re-issue 1869 Shield & Flags 30¢ Ultramarine & Carmine (Graded 98).
The gorgeous well centred copy with beautiful colour retains part of its original gum. Previously hinged, but in superb condition, it is one of only five graded 98, and there are none higher. It sold for $7,313.
Secondly, there was a very rare 1917 Washington 2¢ Rose, AEF booklet pane of 30.

Fresh and well-centred for a pane of this type, it carries a diagonal crease but is in very fine condition. In possession of its original gum, it has four stamps in the outer rows with hinge remnants, other they rate as mint, never hinged.
Described by the auctioneer as 'a truly spectacular showpiece!', it sold for $14,040, and represents a strong investment.
However, a number of high quality US stamps remain on offer which investors and collectors may wish to take a look at to gain a fine piece at a reasonable price.
