This gold pin badge was flown on the Apollo 11 Moon mission.

Astronauts Aldrin, Armstrong and Collins carried the badge at the request of NASA engineer HW Adkins.

The badge displays the Apollo 11 mission insignia

The piece displays the Apollo 11 insignia and is expected to sell for around £8,000 ($11,417) at Henry Aldridge Auctioneers on January 27, although that looks low given the rarity of space-flown items - and the demand for them.

Flown Apollo 11 pieces in this condition typically sell in the $20,000-30,000 range.
