An Apollo 13 flown Oral-B clear toothbrush from the collection of astronaut Jack Swigert performed well against an opening bid of $4,000 at Nate D Sanders on May 29.

The unusual lot sold for $11,000 - an increase of 57.1% that is testament to the unusual nature of the artefact and the importance of the near disastrous mission. It was used by Swigert while in space and was presented alongside a letter of authenticity from his sister.
The lot is one of a number of items from Swigert's estate that featured in the sale, including a set of Apollo Robbins medals.
