PS. Just in case you’re busier than usual, I’ve given you the final summarising paragraph first. When you have the time, here's the rest:

Dear fellow collector

I recently made a discovery.

It is shocking. And it has shocked the space memorabilia market.

Today you have the opportunity to own that discovery.

You have the opportunity to own the document that has turned space collecting upside down.

Let me explain:

Just as stamp collectors will pay many times more for a stamp in a rare colour…

...Or wine connoisseurs will scrap to own a particularly scarce vintage...

...So autograph collectors fight to own the most unusual signatures from famous names.

And they don't come more unusual than this.

Look at this secret signature I've sourced for you:

Few people have ever seen this secret version of Neil Armstrong's signature. Fewer still own one.

It reads: “n.a. armstrong.” The first man on the Moon.

What?In my 45 years in collecting, I had never seen another Neil Armstrong signature like this.

It was completely different to his usual “Neil Armstrong“ signature that he used for signed photos, and even in his personal correspondence.

Who knew Neil Armstrong had two different signatures? No one.

Impossibly rare. The first man on the Moon signs: "n.a. armstrong"

An example of his well-known standard "Neil Armstrong" autograph

My first thought when I saw it was one of scepticism.

But then I delved deep.

And I discovered a tiny handful of similar “n.a. armstrong“ examples from throughout his life.

And it made me realise:

  • Not only is this a genuine Neil Armstrong signature
  • Not only is this atypical signature incredibly rare and valuable
  • This signature reveals the real, private Neil Armstrong

Not the public, heroic astronaut the press wanted to create.

But the quiet, private, humble aeronautical-engineer. Just doing his job.

Armstrong has signed on a private NASA document. Not to be seen by the public.

When the space collecting world finds out about this, it's going to go crazy.

And it gets better.

We’ve established these “n.a armstrong” signatures are rarest of the rare.

So can you believe this?

That I’m offering you not one “n.a. armstrong” signature today. But six. All on the same document.

A document signed six times by Neil Armstrong is virtually unheard of. Armstrong signs once in blue ink, five times in black.

I have never seen anything like this number of Neil Armstrong signatures (of either type) on a single document.

Right, so we now have six impossibly scarce Neil Armstrong signatures.

Yet here’s the thing.

I probably haven’t told you the best bit yet.

This is one of the most important space documents you will ever have the opportunity to own.

Because this is:

Neil Armstrong's official NASA flight log.

This flight log is one of the most important Apollo 11 documents still in private hands.

From the last three test flights Armstrong took before the Moon mission.

It's dated June 16, 1969. Just four weeks before the launch of Apollo 11.

When Armstrong touches down on the third of these test flights...

...He won't leave the Earth again...

Until the Big Day.

The log records Armstrong's three final flights in the Lunar Landing Test Vehicle (LLTV).

The vital training that enabled him to land Eagle 1 on the Moon.

It's one of the most significant Apollo 11 documents in private hands.

Neil Armstrong pictured on June 16, 1969 (the day he signed your document), during a test flight of the Lunar Landing Test Vehicle (LLTV) at Ellington Air Force Base in Texas.

Neil Armstrong called the LLTV “a contrary machine, and a risky machine [he'd had to eject during a 1968 flight], but a very useful one.”

But his test flights in the LLTV were more than useful.

The success of the entire Apollo 11 mission depended on them.

As Armstrong began the final descent to the lunar surface in Eagle 1, he struggled to find a safe landing spot.

The thrusters kicked up a lunar dust storm, which obscured his view. And he had less than 30 seconds of fuel left in the tank.

If he got this wrong, there was no coming back.

Armstrong's LLTV training kicked in. And he averted disaster with a safe landing.

Without his LLTV training, Armstrong would never have been able to land Eagle 1 safely on the Moon.

"Eagle flew very much like the Lunar Landing Training Vehicle," he said later.

"The final trajectory I flew to the landing was very much like those flown in practice. That, of course, gave me a good deal of confidence."

That's why this flight log is so important to the history of space exploration.

Without his hours of LLTV training, Neil Armstrong couldn't have flown the Eagle lunar module.

And he wouldn't have been the first man on the Moon.

The single page document measures 11 x 8.5 inches, and is in exceptional condition.

The log lists the vehicle number (NASA 951), the location (EAFB – Ellington Air Force Base), the flight times and the pilot.

It also includes engine time, inspection status, vehicle condition, and jet fuel, helium, and oxygen levels.

Armstrong has signed twice for each of his flights.

It is 100% genuine

  • I've personally authenticated these signatures
  • It's an official NASA document
  • Dated to one of the most important days of Armstrong's career
