Israeli Olympic judo bronze medalist Yarden Gerbi has sold her Rio 2016 name patch on eBay for charity.
The lot made an impressive $52,100.
Gerbi wore the patch on her back during the competition |
Gerbi plans to donate the proceeds to a hospital in Tel Aviv.
Gerbi said after winning the bronze: "The medal is for all of Israel, for everyone who supported me and cheered me on.
"I'm waiting for someone to wake me up. I gave my soul and it paid off. Whoever said you can't succeed in Israel is wrong."
Last week Polish discus thrower Piotr Malachowski sold his silver medal for a good cause.
