A 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle baseball card headlined a sale of sports memorabilia at Heritage Auctions on November 5-7.
The PSA NM 7-graded card sold for $227,050.

A significant portion of the 1952 Topps series was dumped in the sea after the company realised it would be unable to release it in time for the season.
Heritage explained the lot's exceptional appeal: "Fortuitously spared from death by drowning, this stunning specimen is outshone by just 3.8% of the over 1,200 submissions made to PSA…
"From any reasonable viewing distance, one is unlikely to spot any deviation from perfection, as color and gloss are rendered with unimpeachable results and we couldn't emphasis that any stronger.
"Technically speaking, the card rests at the near-mint level which it truly deserves but visual qualities go far beyond the lofty technical level."
A new record for a 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle was set at $382,400 by Heritage earlier this year.
A 1964 American League Most Valuable Player award presented to Brooks Robinson also sold well, realising $155,350.
Robinson, who played for the Baltimore Orioles throughout his career, had had an exceptional season.
He achieved a batting average of .317 and a .972 fielding percentage during the year.
