Bonhams is inviting consignments for its up and coming Art of Jewels, Fine Jewellery and Iconic Gems sale, to be held on December 9.
The London auctioneer is looking for "interesting signed jewels, stylish period pieces or rare antique gems" to pass over its auction block, hopefully of the high calibre showcased at the sale in previous years.

Past star lots in Bonhams' sales have included important art deco and period jewels by Cartier, Tiffany and Van Cleef & Arpels, unique works by artist jewellers such as Andrew Grima, Sah Oved, Verdura and Sterlé and rare Renaissance gems.
Among the past highlights was a rare art deco black lacquer bangle by Cartier (pictured above) dated to 1935. It was sold for £96,000 ($153,902) inclusive of Buyer's Premium back in 2009.

Also auctioned that year was a rare 16th century gold jewel ornament (lower picture) depicting a maiden bathing by a fountain with the water rendered in blue and white enamel. This interesting trinket brought £48,000 ($76,951).
Judging by its past sales, Bonhams' auction should be unmissable for collectors with a passion for unique and valuable jewellery. Watch this space for upcoming news on the sale.
