The Terrier from Outer Space meteorite proved a hit in Christie’s Science and Natural History sale in London yesterday.
Does this look like a terrier to you?
The rock got its name from its uncanny resemblance to the dog breed.
It’s one of a small subset of meteorites prized for their "zoomorphic" or animal like qualities.
This example, which smashed into the Namibian desert a few thousand years ago, is a particularly fine specimen.
It realised £68,750 ($88,412).
