The world’s most exclusive handbag could be about to set a new world record.
Jeweller Robert Mouawad is behind the wildly over the top, one of a kind piece.
The bag is studded with diamonds and hangs from a gold chain
Known as the 1001 Nights Diamonds Purse, the bag is studded with around 4,500 stones and weighs in at a hefty 381.9 carats.
In 2010 it made it into the Guinness Book of World Records as the world’s most valuable handbag. It was then valued at $3.8m.
The lot will be sold privately through Christie’s, following showings in Hong Kong, Geneva and London.
Whatever the result, it’s almost certain to beat the $377,000 world record set for a Hermes Birkin 30 earlier this year.
