Whilst more closely associated with books, art and manuscripts, Bloomsbury Auctions has a well developed jewellery section, and is intending to put on an impressive auction of 316 lots in its Rome outlet.
One of the highlights is a Bulgari platinum ring with acentral ruby of 2.99 cts on a 'mound' of diamonds.

A ruby and diamond trombino ring by Bulgari, it is composed of a step cut ruby (2.99ct) with the claw set above a tapered mount of 6 baguette cut diamonds and pave set 50 brilliant cut diamonds. The original box is included. It is expected to sell for €20,000-25,000 ($35,400).
There is also an important bracelet in 18 kt white gold articulated with a central string of brilliants and two lateral fringes of shuttles cut diamonds. The gems have a total weight of 34.50 ct and the bracelet is 19cm in length.

The diamonds are of colour F/G and purity of VVS / VS for the shuttle cut diamonds and purity IF for the brilliant cut. The fine piece carries an estimate of €43,000-€50,000 ($70,800) in Bloomsbury's auction which takes place on May 25.
