Later this week, British jewellery auctioneer Fellows will be holding an enormous sale of second-hand jewellery and watches, consisting of over 8000 lots. Among the many wonderful and valuable pieces are a few highlights - with affordable investment potential.
The leading lot is unusual, in that it actually comprises an assortment of jewellery. Included are eight different pendants, 16 necklets - two of which are classified as fancy - four odd earrings, two fancy bangles, four fancy bracelets, two pairs of assorted earrings and two rings.
The lot totals of 976.71 grams of jewellery. This fine variety of beautiful and valuable pieces could be an excellent foundation for a new collector; with an estimate of between £20,000-22,000, an investor looking for an interesting and visually appealing alternative could buy for a fairly low cost.

Also notable is Lot 953 - an 18 carat gold coloured diamond ring. The central diamond - light yellow in appearance - weighs 2.27 carats and is a square-cut, fancy intense stone. In addition, it is flanked by two smaller triangular-shaped clear diamonds with a total weight of 0.4 carats.
The striking ring is bright and clear, and would be a fine piece of personal decoration as well as a great investment or collector's piece. It is expected to be popular, with an estimate of £15,000-17,000.
Fellows are offering a fantastic range of pieces in this sale; the lots above are likely to catch the eye of experienced investors, but those with less disposable income will find plenty of watches, necklaces, rings, bangles and bracelets for two figures and above in the March 10th sale.
These are not only beautiful items but part of a flourishing collectors market; diamonds, as we have pointed out many times, continue to prove incredibly popular. For a reasonable investment, and with care, understanding and a proper consideration of the risks and benefits, jewellery offers serious potential to make a profit.
