Guernsey’s is to offer a remarkable collection of emeralds in its April 25 auction at the Americas Society in New York.
The La Gloria emerald originates from Columbia's Muzo mines
All originate from the collection of gem expert Manuel Marcial de Gomar, who has spent much of his 60 year career working in the Muzo mines deep in the jungles of Colombia.
Among the highlights is the 887 carat La Gloria, the fourth largest rough diamond uncovered in the mines.
No estimate is available for the lot but it’s likely to sell for a seven figure sum.
