The auction house describes the model as among the rarest and most desirable watches ever produced by the Swiss manufacturer. The present example is engraved with the Tiffany's logo on the back, having been first sold there in 1983.
Antiquorum explains: "Bearing the signature of the famous New York jewellery retailer, it is part of a very exclusive series known in existence…
"Introduced in the market in the early 1950's, this reference replaced the famous Reference 1518, the first ever perpetual calendar and chronograph wristwatch made in a series by the brand…
"To our knowledge 349 pieces were made in total during its production run, the majority of them encased in yellow gold. Approximately 9 pieces were produced each year at the ateliers in Geneva, with very few signed with the retailers' names on the dial."
A gold Patek Philippe tourbillion watch is also likely to sell well, with an estimate of $216,602-324,903.
The mechanism was created in the 1920s, while the case was built in the 1980s.
