A set of jewellery found in a secret drawer in a cabinet made £10,000 ($14,152) at John Taylors auction house yesterday, the BBC reports.
Some of the intaglios found in the cabinet
Luckily for the consignor, staff at the rooms had had their coffee the morning they inspected the cabinet, one of several pieces from a local estate.
The drawer turned out to be filled with a number of reverse crystal intaglios, the majority depicting animals.
While the jewellery sold for up to £2,000 ($2,830) apiece, the cabinet went for just £45 ($63).
