Later today, Seized Asset Auctioneers begins a two-day sale of over 700 collectable items. Auctions of the kind that the auctioneer specialises in can often offer some great opportunities for collectors to pick up investment-grade pieces at a relative bargain price, especially when as in this case the lots are offered with no reserve price.
There are a variety of kinds of pieces on offer, for example a Mets '86 autographed 16x20 photograph, some artwork and the odd collectible coin. But the bulk of the sale and its major highlights are made up by jewellery.
Two of the highlights are:
An electronically tested 18kt white gold ladies' freshwater cultured pearl & diamond ensemble, with the diamonds weighing in at 1.15ct, is in excellent condition with good workmanship.
The ensemble features a seventeen inch length freshwater cultured pearl and diamond necklace with a fringe, a seven and one half inch length bracelet with a lobster claw clasp and a matching pair of dangle style earrings with hinged snapping lock posts.
It boasts a bright polish finish with milgrain detailing throughout. Identified with markings of 750", the piece displays twenty freshwater cultured pearls and one hundred forty eight bead set round brilliant cut diamonds.
The total weight of the ensemble is 45.50 gm and the piece is listed at $8,100-$16,300.

The likely top lot however is a 14kt white gold sapphire & diamond necklace, also in excellent condition.
The electronically tested eternity necklace features a sapphire pendant set within a tiered diamond bezel, supported by a ribbon of sapphires and completed by a hidden box clasp with safety catch. It displays a bright polish finish.
The main jewel is a one prong set oval mixed cut natural blue sapphire surrounded by brilliant cut diamonds hanging from the necklace of twenty-one prong set oval mixed cut natural blue sapphires.
The total weight of coloured stones is 82.20ct whilst the total weight of the diamonds is 1.60ct. Overall the total weight of the necklace is 50.45gm. The piece is estimated at $15,250-$30,500 in the sale which takes place first thing in the morning local time in California and online.
